Couture gets restraining order on Affliction President

It seems that the higher up’s over at clothing manufacturer & mma promotion Affliction have not been getting along with the Coutures since Randy re-signed with the UFC back in September. Affliction president Todd Eugene Beard has allegedley been threatening and intimidating Randy’s wife Kim Couture.  A restraining order was issued last Wednesday that restricts Beard from attending UFC 91 this Saturday as well as making an appearance in the hotel where the official weigh-ins are to take place.

Kim Couture won the order Wednesday against Affliction Inc. clothing company owner Todd Eugene Beard. Kim Couture alleges in court documents that Beard has a violent criminal history and engaged in “threatening” actions.

Observations:

  1. Heath Herring looks as cut and ripped as I’ve ever seen him

  3. Fitch does not look like has a significant size advantage over Georges St. Pierre

BJ Penn Video: Training has begun

After taking a two month break from training it looks like lightweight champion BJ Penn is back and making good use of his time management skills, preparing 5 months early for his next fight. Speculated to either be against Georges St. Pierre for a super fight at the beginning of next year, or against the winner of Saturday nights fight between Kenny Florian and Roger Heurta for another lightweight title defense.

According to one of his trainers Penn is strength training for the first two months, to possibly muscle up and make the 170lb weight class properly - muscular, lean and fit. The 12-minute video shows a bit of his weight training regimen, some of his legendary ju-jitsu skills (arm keylock demonstration), and him shouting out instructions to a couple of his students rolling and grappling in his gym.

BJ Penn vs Hughes III: “I have to kill him”

“Right now I’d rather fight George St. Pierre (over Hughes), because I know its a big fight and I feel that it’ll move the sport of mixed martial arts forward to have a super fight like that take place. I think Matt hughes will be a great fight after the George St. Pierre fight. Who cares if he’s a wounded animal? I have to kill him.”

Cung Le in talks for 3 fight deal with UFC

“My promoter is willing embracing going into the UFC like how Gracie went in and fight Matt Hughes, but is Dana willing to do that?…We’re at the 3 (fight) mark, we’ll see how it goes”
