Shogun Rua vs Mark Coleman: “I believe now it will happen”

Shogun Interview

Tatame has gotten a hold of highly regarded fighter Mauricio “Shogun” Rua and asked him a few questions in this interview.  Other questions include Shogun’s thoughts on Sokoudjou (who has called him out in recent months) fight against Luis Crane and the status on his reoccurring knee injury and rehabilitation.

Did UFC say anything about your next fight?

I spoke with my manager now and he said they called him and said it would depend on October’s event. I might face Mark Coleman on December, but nothing has been signed yet. He wanted to face me on November, and I really wanna face him, I hope this time he don’t run from me. He said no to me a couple of times, but I believe now it will happen..

Mauricio Rua (13-3) was one of the breakouts from the now defunct PRIDE organization, winning their Grand Prix middleweight tournament by wrecking an all star cast including Quintin “Rampage” Jackson, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, and Ricardo Arona.  His welcome party to the UFC was abruptly cut short courtesy of the newly minted light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin, losing to him by rear naked choke in the 3rd round last September during UFC 76: Knockout.
